What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facility Engineer position at The Building People?
The Building People, LLC, has a position open for a Facility Engineer.
The Facility Engineer shall located at the James M Hanley Federal Building in Syracuse, NY and provide coverage as necessary to the Utica and Binghamton Federal Buildings.
Additionally, the Facility Engineer may manage major and/or minor project and alteration services for the Contractor. The projects could be as simple as workspace alterations or creating bid specifications for one-time deferred maintenance issues for roofs, asphalt and concrete repair, plumbing, electrical and HVAC or as complex as full oversight and management of commissioning, architectural and engineering design services, and implementation for complex construction projects. These projects could include everything from new construction and additions to comprehensive overhauls of older buildings, including museums and or buildings classified under the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA).
Required Experience & Skills
- The Facility Engineer shall have a minimum of 5 years of recent experience (within the past 7 years) in Engineering Design or Construction and must be proficient in reviewing and commenting on Design Intent Drawings, As-Built Drawings, and some cost estimating experience.
Preferred Experience & Skills
- In addition to technical design and construction skills and experience, ideally the candidate shall possess a strong ability to perform as a Project and Program Manager and have strong the ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
