A well-established North Dallas CPA firm, seeks an experienced Tax Accountant. The firm’s scope of work encompasses a full range of Federal, State and Local tax issues, including tax controversy, plus litigation support, business succession planning and merger & acquisition and more.
Tax Accountant Responsibilities:
- Preparation of Tax Returns for Individuals, Corporations, Partnerships
- Preparation of payroll and state tax returns
- Prepares and/or assist client with proper presentation of asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries.
- Interaction with the client to ensure an understanding of the financial reporting, and content of financial statements to prepare a complete and accurate return.
- Experience in handling of IRS and state tax notices
- Experience with technical tax research, including developing tax strategies, documenting the authority, and implementing a tax plan for a client
- Performs special projects including Litigation Support and Business Succession Planning for clients that require an ability to communicate a complex topic in simple terms
- Prepare written communications to client on various tax matters both for file documentation and correspondence to the client
- Bookkeeping: Maintaining subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions; Balancing subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries; Balancing general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries
- Process Payroll, Complete EFTPS transfers
- Compile/prepare payroll taxes quarterly
- Perform year-end W2 and 1099 process and distribution
- A/R and A/P preparation if requested by client
- Accounting background and recent CPA firm experience a must

Requirements/Skills/Benefits:
- Proficient with QuickBooks- minimum of 3 years’ experience
- Recent Public Accounting experience with a minimum of 3 years in the Public Accounting
- ProSystem FX experience
- Microsoft Office and Excel proficient
- Payroll experience and Payroll Tax Reporting required
- Detail-oriented, action-minded and self-motivated team player
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Degree in Accounting
- CPA preferred but not required
- Extensive knowledge of various tax laws and ability to perform technical tax research
- Professional communication

Salary : $65,000 - $80,000
