Job Description Acknowledgement:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the Program Director's direct supervision, the Clinical Supervisor is responsible for the daily clinical operations and services of the assigned student interns and/or associate clinicians. The Clinical Supervisor may be called upon to manage the treatment service teams

Monitors and controls the delivery of mental health services in accordance with Agency standards and acceptable professional practices.

Monitors and ensures that documentation and case records are developed and maintained in accordance with Agency and Medi-Cal standards.

Provide clinical supervision and performance management of program staff.

Develops, maintains, and assures implementation of on-the-job training and orientation of new staff.

Implements and maintains quality assurance systems and reporting programs related to clinical services, and participates on Quality Improvement teams as assigned.

Provides back-up clinical and case management services, when needed.

Provides on-call services based on rotation schedule.

Provides assessment, individual, family, collateral or group psychotherapy by appointment at clinic or in the community (home visits, school)

Completes case management duties and documentation in a timely manner with in establish Agency policies.

Provides crisis support for associate clinicians.

Represents the Agency within the community and professional organizations.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Carry a small caseload to meet continued education requirements: willingness to learn evidenced-based practices for eating disorders and trauma treatment

Completes a confidential written progress notes, using an electronic health record, on each client for each treatment session, and other clinical documentation as required.

Protects confidentiality of all clients by securing proper signatures on Release of Information forms. Ensure Protected Health Information is secured at all times.

Attend meetings and trainings as required.

Must possess a valid California driver's license, personal automobile insurance and driving record that meets the standards outlined in the Agency’s Personnel Policy: Motor Vehicle Operating Standards.

Must be willing to complete a Tuberculosis (TB) test.

Must be willing to complete a personal background investigation conducted by the State of California and must meet California Community Care Licensing standards for employment

Must be willing to work within a culturally integrated workplace and be willing to respect human differences based upon protected classes as defined by state, federal and local laws, or any other condition that distinguishes people from one another.

Requires the ability to think and act quickly in emergencies; effectively deal with personal danger; maintain mental capacity which allows the capability of exercising sound judgment and rational thinking under varied circumstances. Must be able to work safely with seriously emotionally disturbed children who may become violent, and physically and verbally offensive, without reacting in a negative, cruel or hostile manner towards the client.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Completion of a clinical program with a Masters’ or Ph.D. degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a closely related field of behavioral or medical science from an accredited educational institution.
  • Two years experience post-license experience and/or post masters management experience in a related field.
  • Holds a clinical license issued by appropriate State agency consistent with standards outlined in the Agency’s Clinical Licensing Standards policy.
  • Must have good oral and writing skills in the English language, including the ability to write concise, informative professional reports and assigned documentation in a timely manner.
  • Has completed BBS requirements to clinically supervise associate clinicians

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read / write in Spanish, sign-language, or several other languages besides English are highly desirable. The ability to read and interpret documents such as outside clinical reports and to administer psychological assessment tools, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with individuals.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and be agile enough to move quickly to respond to a child’s actions.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
