Position Title
: Corporate Accountant

Position Reports to: VP of Finance and Accounting

Location: Colorado Springs, CO, must be able to work on-site.

Work Hours: M-Th 8 AM- 5 PM, F 8 AM-12 PM additional hours as needed

Pay Rate: $60,000- $70,000 salary-exempt, full-time

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalency required
  • Minimum of 2 years’ progressive experience; preference in public accounting

Role Summary:

The Corporate Accountant will be responsible for the financial statements of multiple real estate, administrative, and holding companies, which includes, but is not limited to the monthly reconciliation of the general ledger (e.g. bank accounts, account reconciliation, credit cards, and notes receivables / payable and trade partner communication surrounding billings/payments)

Additionally, the Corporate Accountant will be responsible for presenting financial statements to management in approved form with the necessary applicable reports (e.g. budget to actuals, with variances clearly communicated) by agreed-upon due dates.


Responsibilities include:

  • Monthly financial statement reporting
  • Accounts payable management – invoice entry/statement review/vendor management
  • Accounts receivable management – invoice creation/payment collections
  • Expense reimbursement and corporate card management
  • Cash management – bank reconciliations, cash reporting
  • Purchase orders - design, implementation, improve
  • Monthly journal entry preparation and GL account reconciliation
  • W-9 management & annual 1099 filings
  • Assist in top-of-the-house reporting (e.g. consolidated management report, debt reporting, cash, etc)
  • Ad hoc duties assigned by CFO and VP of Finance and Accounting.
  • Assists with special projects as required.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ progressive experience; preference in public accounting
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills

  • Demonstrates full ownership of assigned responsibilities

Preferred Education/Credentials/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • CPA or willing to work toward obtaining CPA within the first year of employment
