Responsibilities

Provide mission assurance by mitigating risks and enhancing opportunities associated with cost, schedule, technical performance, and compliance throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC).

 

Ensure best practices during the planning, requirements development/management, design, implementation, test, documentation, deployment, and maintenance; perform other essential tasks as assigned by the task lead such as products/process audits, engineering change or release (ECR) reviews, peer reviews / inspections, communication/coordination with project/task/group leads, generating metrics/reports. In addition the are opportunities to support as a software independent verification

and validation (SW IV&V) engineer that ensures requirements are properly implemented and thoroughly tested.

 

  • Act as an independent subject matter expert with an eye on reducing risks, enhancing opportunities
  • Recommend innovative, compliant solutions to meet the needs of business
  • Review products and processes, and provide feedback for improvements
  • Drive software process development through participation in an SEPG (Software Engineering Process Group)
  • Lead Agile/Scrum activities to deliver high quality, compliant, software
  • Ensure best practices, compliance during the planning, requirements development/management, design, implementation, test, documentation, deployment, and maintenance
  • Multitask, prioritize, and work with minimal supervision. Perform essential tasks as assigned, such as products/process audits, engineering change or release (ECR) review, peer reviews / inspections, communication/coordination with project/program leads, and generation of metrics/reports
  • Support the development of test plans, procedures, and detailed test reports.
  • Write and execute scripts to collect and analyze test results, control flight simulations and requirement verification.
  • Execute software simulators and software models

 

Qualifications

 

 

Required Qualifications:   

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (science, technology, engineering, software or math)

  • 5 years of work experience

  • 2 years of experience in programming languages such as C, C , Java in Windows, UNIX or Solaris environments

  • Familiarity with SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle); quality assurance methodologies, root cause analysis & corrective action

  • Ability to anticipate problems and take appropriate actions to mitigate risks; prioritize, multitask, work independently and as a team

 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Technical program/project engineering/management or process/quality engineering experience
  • MS Office, MS Access, Python scripting language, MATLAB & SIMICS
  • Current or Prior USG Secret Clearance
  • Knowledge of government/industry standards, such as, MIL-Spec, AS9100, ISO 9001
  • Strong troubleshooting and reasoning skills; ability to debug and resolve difficult technical problems
  • Experience with Agile, SCRUM (SCRUM Master ideal), requirements development/management, audits/assessments
  • Experience in a wide breadth of software development activities

Security Requirment:

This position will require the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance.  Main requirement for a security clearance is US Citizenship.
