Title: Teaching Assistant - Nursing
Job Overview: Implements optimal learning experiences for nursing students in the clinical setting and skills laboratory at the direction of/with guidance from masters-prepared faculty. Contributes to the college’s operational effectiveness through participation in governance and continuous evaluation of critical outcome measures. Reports directly to the Dean of Nursing.
The Teaching Assistant may perform the following duties:

Teaching: Implements and supervises clinical and skills laboratory learning experiences to facilitate students meeting clinical outcomes, utilizing faculty-provided guidelines.

Contributes to the operational effectiveness of the college.

Role models professional growth and development.

Performs other role related responsibilities

TEducation:
-

A Bachelor of Science in nursing degree.
-
Enrollment in a graduate level course in a program for registered nurses to obtain a master’s or doctoral degree with a major in nursing is expected following appointment.

Completion of an approved professional registered nursing education program in a jurisdiction defined in the OAC.

Licenses & Certifications:

Current, valid licensure as a registered nurse in Ohio

Current, active Kentucky licensure may also be required following appointment.

BLS certification required.

Experience:

Experience of at least two years in the practice of professional nursing as a registered nurse is required Current, active Kentucky licensure may also be required following appointment.

Teaching experience preferred.
