Church Location: This historical African American church is located in the small town of Stroudsburg, PA which lies within the heart of the beautiful Poconos Mountain region, approximately five miles from the Delaware Water Gap.

Job Description: Stroudsburg Alliance Church is seeking a lead pastor who is a good leader and teacher with a shepherd’s heart to fulfill their vision to impact their community with the Gospel. The congregation and elders are seeking a pastor gifted in teaching, developing people, and prophetic ministry.

Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate is gifted and willing to help lead the church to engage in community events, to help train, cultivate, and nurture church leaders, and to help build a culture of generosity within the congregation.

Minimum Years of Experience: The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of ministry experience and has successfully led a congregation to engage their community with the Gospel.

Minimum Education Level: If necessary, must be willing to complete the Ministerial Study Program (MSP).

Minimum Credential Level: Must be willing to complete the Alliance accreditation process.

Compensation: Salaried, Health Benefits

Church Size: Small (Less than 50 for Avg. Sunday Attendance)

Church History: This African American church was founded over 100 years ago by Rev. William F. Johnson. Rev. Johnson was freed from slavery from a plantation in Richmond, Virginia at the age of 14.

Church Ministries: Sunday worship, Wednesday Bible study and soup kitchen, Friday prayer meeting, Saturday women’s ministry and men’s ministry

Church Vision: Stroudsburg Alliance Church exists as a local expression of a Christ-centered church living out the Great Commission daily. Their vision is to create a church where the uncompromising Word of God is proclaimed and explained.
