Delivers professional activities in the Sales job family with a focus on Direct Sales. This position works independently to develop a territory strategy for new business and existing accounts. This role represents the Primary Therapies for the Physician Engagement sales department working cross-functionally on pull through efforts and other sales initiatives. Responsible for selling activities related to inbound/outbound calls about healthcare related products. Responsible for generating own leads and meeting sales quotas. Maintains sales programs within assigned territory. Qualifies prospects and attempts to close sale. May require travel to visit prospect in addition to conducting sales presentations and enrollments over the phone. Conducts majority of selling activities over the phone, internet and/or computer. May be responsible for tracking sales calls and results. Communicates information accurately and timely to customers. Attends all planned sales meetings and department meetings. Applies standard techniques and procedures to routine instructions that require professional knowledge in specialist areas. Provides standard professional advice and creates initial reports/analyses for review. May provide guidance, coaching, and direction to more junior members of the team in Direct Sales. This role is eligible for sales incentive compensation (IC).
Essential Functions
- Articulate Accredo’s programs and services to drive business
- Conduct customer outreaches to grow existing accounts and to prospect for new accounts.
- Work with cross-functional internal partners and stakeholders to manage day-to-day territory activities.
- Develop and foster pharmaceutical manufacturer relationships; interface with clients/payers to assess needs, identify and implement solutions.
- Represents the Physician Engagement team on cross-functional task forces/advisory boards.
- Acts as SME consultant for internal partners during product rollouts, cross-functional projects and other corporate initiatives.
- Represents the company at trade shows, conferences, seminars, or other off site meetings applicable to territory or business need.
- Conducts external presentations as needed.
- Works collaboratively with account executives to develop and present strategies to Specialty Pharmacy customers that position Accredo as the best option to reduce administrative burdens and achieve optimum clinical patient care.
Qualifications
- 0-3 years’ experience with Bachelor’s Degree
- 2-5 years of relevant experience without a Bachelor’s Degree
- Strong PC skills including Microsoft Office products, e-mail and the Internet.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of the health care and PBM industry and its products and services, preferred.
- Ability to work cross functionally to resolve client issues.
- Strong focus on customer service.
- Ability to manage timelines and meet tight client deadlines.
