IT Business Systems Data Analyst

The City of Fort Worth Water Reclamation Facility has an IT Business Systems Data Analyst job available to assist the IT Business Systems Coordinator.  You will be responsible for SCADA system maintenance, testing, performing patches, debugging and analysis of system data in addition to the other duties assigned to you. 

IT Business Systems Data Analyst job responsibilities include:

• Prepare and analyze technical reports related to plant operations for staff, management and other agencies.
• Inform Operations/Management Staff regarding deviations from Normal Operating Conditions. 
• Conduct field verification and data extraction from equipment nameplates and enter asset information in computer maintenance management system, Maximo.
• Write SQL Queries to extract data out of Maximo.
• Be involved in web development/update of facility intranet.
• Generate reports and data presentations.  This includes not only the Annual Statistical Report and reports to regulatory agencies, but also data requests from consulting firms and upper management. 
• Update Electricity/Natural Gas Models for all Water/Wastewater facilities
• Perform outdoor field work on equipment verifications. Perform research on O&M manuals and asset life cycle costs to determine best maintenance strategies
• Coordinate the Tag creation/installation program for field equipment at all water/wastewater facilities. 
• Troubleshoot computer/network related issues.
• Perform and assist in performing patches on the Ovation SCADA system. Modify existing scripts to accommodate changes within the SCADA reporting/data entry packages.
• Provide assistance in Jython/Python scripting for the new SCADA system on the water side.
• Develop thorough and organized SOPs for SCADA related activities. 
• Provide assistance in updating and creating the Plant Operation SOPs for all water/wastewater facilities.  

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field.
• Possess a valid driver license.
• Open to working up to 30% of time in the field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous wastewater plant operation is a plus.
• Experience with SCADA/DCS or Maximo systems is preferred.
• Knowledge of fundamentals and principles of computer technology, systems analysis and design and operating systems.
• Be familiar with programming languages for web development (ASP Programming, Adobe Dreamweaver CC 2017 and Adobe Fireworks CS6), SQL and Visual Basic Applications for Microsoft Excel, Jython, Python, Java.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office Products.
