Drop-Off Recycling Center Attendant

The City of Overland Park has a full-time Drop-Off Recycling Center Attendant position available in the Parks and Recreation Department.

Responsibilities:

  • Under general supervision, oversees the daily operation of the City’s drop-off recycling center.
  • Supervises and directs volunteers and temporary staff assigned to the center.
  • Assists and educates users of the facility about the center and recycling.
  • Maintains the center’s upkeep and schedules container pickups.
  • Assist supervisor in emergency operations, including snow removal, as required.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and maintain an insurable driving record.
  • Experience working in a customer service environment is preferred.
  • No City residency requirement.

Must successfully pass a background check, drug screen, and physical exam.

Normal Work Schedule: 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m., Tue.-Fri.; 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Sat.

Salary Range: $18-$19.59/hr. ($37,440-$40,745.25 annually)

This position also participates in the NEW Snow Program Incentive:

  • CDL Drivers = $1,500 minimum
  • Drivers = $1,000 minimum
  • Support Staff = $500 minimum
