The Human Resources Intern at the City of Plymouth will support day-to-day HR functions including recruitment and retention, HRIS and payroll, labor and employee relations, benefits, safety and risk management.
Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to perform in accordance with the City of Plymouth’s CIVIC values (customer focus, integrity, visionary, inclusion and connection) and comfort with supporting and advancing the city council’s strategic priorities
Current or recent enrollment in a graduate or undergraduate degree program with an interest and aptitude to work in Human Resources
Must have ability to work independently, have high attention to detail and take initiative on projects
Must have excellent communication and coordination skills and proven ability to work effectively with people of all backgrounds and identities
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple processes, programs and procedures simultaneously
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
Proficient in Microsoft Office and internet applications
Desired Qualifications
Familiarity with municipal government operations
Familiarity with HRIS (Human Resources Information System)
Knowledge of US labor laws
Other paid or volunteer experience in an office setting
