We are seeking a dedicated School Janitor for a contracted position at a reputable educational institution in Wilmington, CA. This role is pivotal in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. The position requires working the evening shift and entails a variety of cleaning and minor maintenance tasks.

**Responsibilities:**

- Perform thorough cleaning tasks throughout the school, including sweeping, mopping, and polishing floors in classrooms, hallways, and common areas.

- Clean and sanitize restrooms, ensuring they are replenished with necessary supplies.

- Empty trash bins and manage recycling processes across the school premises.

- Carry out basic maintenance and repair tasks, such as changing light bulbs and minor repairs, to ensure a safe environment.

- Maintain cleanliness in outdoor areas, including sidewalks and entrances, to ensure a welcoming appearance.

- Assist with the setup and cleanup of school events and activities, as required.

- Ensure the security of school buildings by locking doors and windows after cleaning activities.

- Promptly report any safety hazards, damages, or maintenance needs to the appropriate contacts.

- Follow all health and safety guidelines and policies diligently.

**Requirements:**

- Previous janitorial or custodial experience, with a preference for those who have worked in an educational setting.

- Physical ability to perform cleaning and maintenance tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.

- Knowledgeable about the use and maintenance of cleaning equipment and supplies.

- Reliable and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Must be able to pass a background check.
