JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Food Runner

Department: Food and Beverage

Reports To: Food & Beverage Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Approved By: Director of Food & Beverage

Summary:

Serves as a liaison between the kitchen and servers, while ensuring prompt and polite service to the members and guests.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Completes all opening, closing, and running side work throughout the shift.
• Attends pre-meal meetings to learn daily specials, club announcements, and general club information.
• Assists servers and server assistants in the dining room with clearing dishes, filling waters, and setting the dining room properly.
• Carefully matches all food items to their correct orders.
• Communicates with the kitchen, servers, and the Food & Beverage Managers regarding any issues with food delivery to the tables.
• Uses member’s name whenever possible.
• Ensures all to go orders have the correct food and condiments, making sure they are assembled and labeled correctly.
• Leaves work area organized and clean and ready for the next shift.
• Possess proper knowledge of the dining room floor plan, table numbers, and position numbers at respective tables.
• Uphold sanitation and food safety principles.
• Communicates with members, co-workers, management, and the public in a courteous and professional manner.
• Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
• Exhibits and maintains a professional demeanor and grooming standards to reflect a positive image of The Club at Admirals Cove.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Food &Beverage Managers.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must be knowledgeable of all food items on the menu, their descriptions, and ingredients.
• Ability to verbally communicate well in English and in writing.
• Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions in English.
• Ability to interact professionally and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, co-workers, and members.
• Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

There are no supervisory responsibilities in this position.

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); plus, a minimum of one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

Ability to communicate well in English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak on a one-on-one basis to members and guests.

Computer Skills:

No computer skills required for this position.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Safe Staff Food Handlers Certificate.

TIPS Certificate.
