Summary
Primarily responsible for assisting Director of Purchasing in the receiving of all food, beverage, kitchen staples, cleaning chemicals, paper and office supplies, and other necessary product and equipment and the proper handling of these product. Through teamwork, assists other members of department in achieving departmental vision and goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Receives all deliveries thoroughly inspects the quality and quantity of product to ensure it meets company standards and fulfills order.
- Confirms temperature of all perishable products.
- Ensures proper rotation of food following “First in, First Out” procedures.
- Keeps all storage areas clean and tidy, including walk-in coolers.
- Stores all product properly in the designated areas.
- Confers with Director of Purchasing and returns any unsatisfactory product.
- Reports vendor issues relating to discrepancies, quality, and timeliness of deliveries to Director of Purchasing.
- Assists Director of Purchasing with inventory.
- Informs Director of Purchasing when supplies/product are low.
- Operates within all established guidelines, policies, standards, and constraints as set by the Club.

Education and/or Experience
Less than high school education; three to six months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondences. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of inventory software and order processing systems.
