Assistant Pastry Chef

Overview: We are seeking a skilled and passionate Pastry Cook to join our team. As a Pastry Cook, you will be responsible for preparing a variety of delicious pastries and desserts. Duties: - Prepare and bake a wide range of pastries, including cakes, cookies, pies, and breads - Decorate pastries using various techniques, such as piping, glazing, and icing - Follow recipes and ensure accurate measurements of ingredients - Monitor oven temperatures and baking times to ensure optimal results - Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pastry station - Collaborate with other kitchen staff to coordinate pastry orders with main courses - Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed - Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times Skills: - Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, ingredients, and equipment - Experience in a professional kitchen or bakery setting is preferred - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail - Excellent time management skills to meet production deadlines - Creativity and artistic flair for cake decorating and pastry presentation - Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members effectively - Customer service-oriented mindset to ensure customer satisfaction with pastry offerings Requirements: - Previous experience as a Pastry Cook or similar role is preferred but not required - Culinary degree or certification in pastry arts is a plus - Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices - Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) - Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Join our talented culinary team and bring your passion for pastries to our restaurant.
