Location(s): United States of America City/Cities: Atlanta Travel Required: Relocation Provided: Job Posting End Date: February 17, 2023 Shift: Job Description Summary: The Deputy Chief Privacy Officer will report directly to the Global Chief Privacy Officer and will manage the Privacy Office Global DPO department and advise the Regional DPOs (direct reports). The successful candidate will also drive global privacy governance across functions (finance, tax, Scientific Regulatory Affairs, Human Resources and others) and OUs and to monitor completion of milestones for our top-down / bottom up privacy governance structure overseeing privacy requirements in our business processes to enable compliant business growth. What You’ll Do for Us: Actively participate and proactively engage with the OU General Counsels and Leadership Teams, assisting the CPO directly on matters in support of the Privacy and Data Trust Governance and Operating Model and to document processes for embedding top Privacy Initiatives into key personal data processes. Drive integration of privacy requirements into our business processes to enable compliant business growth including: Manage Privacy Office Global DPO department and advise the Regional DPOs (direct reports) and Privacy network leaders on Privacy processes, requirements and risk balancing analysis. Lead Privacy Risk and Governance Program and lead Manage Privacy Risk Metrics and Reporting and Responsible for developing and uplifting existing processes and systems using to uplift enterprise-wide controls. Manage and oversee onboarding and training plans for DPOs and Privacy Cross-functional leaders (e.g., the Core Privacy team) to drive efficiencies and execution of Privacy strategy Design and manage Resilient Privacy regulatory monitoring, management and compliance process and expand geographic scope and volume of data within TCCC Resilient Privacy Controls Manage Privacy network and Regional / OU Executive Leadership strategic advice and reporting on Compliance Levels & Risk Tolerance. Budget for cross OU and functional team privacy program governance and coordination Maintain an ongoing understanding of trends in privacy and data trust to be able to evaluate risk and think and act strategically Establish strong relationships and where applicable, participate on the client leadership teams, helping to set the strategic agenda and proactively identify business solutions compliance opportunities; Manage relationships with the risk management, legal and functions regarding Privacy and Cybersecurity processes, requirements and risk balancing analysis. Collaborate with other attorneys in the Global Legal Function and business colleagues across the system with particular emphasis on helping to drive awareness and participation in the Privacy and Data Trust (DTAT) Network across all OU’s;Manage and organize assignments to ensure timely, customer-oriented support and work to a performance standard to establish service level consistency across the group. Qualification & Requirements: Requires a law degree, significant Privacy knowledge and experience interpreting and applying complex regulations in multiple jurisdictions. Expert knowledge of GDPR required, APAC, EMEA, US, Canada, LATAM privacy law working knowledge expected; 10-15 years of experience with at least 5 years handling complex privacy and data protection global compliance program and risk balancing; 5-10 years of experience with deep knowledge of privacy and data protection laws in Europe, Americas, APAC and EMEA; International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) CIPP or similar certifications are preferred, and experience with OneTrust preferred. Experience implementing the intricacies of global privacy laws, particularly including those relevant for digital marketing innovation, ad tech and emerging platforms (Metaverse, Web3) and large, complex and multi-disciplinary compliance projects. Experience prioritizing work, providing advice under deadlines, problem-solving, demonstrating strong attention to detail, while under limited oversight Experience in handling investigations, including communication with authorities and other external parties Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, demonstrated proficiency in working closely with and advising senior executives of an organization. Related Work Experience: Implement a global legal privacy and data strategy that enables the use of data to accelerate growth. Provide sound, clear and succinct recommendations and analysis to senior stakeholders and business teams around data use and management that enables innovation to move forward and break new ground. Provide oversight & guidance over global legal matters relating to privacy, with a focus on ensuring the Enterprise receives strategic and solution-oriented privacy solutions in an optimized and networked fashion. Advise, draft, and negotiate data privacy and security clauses in contracts and prepare data processing agreements, as part of external contract review or internal templates and modifying data privacy template clauses with third parties such as marketing partners, suppliers, and others. Develop and implement data privacy policies and terms of use, as well as policies and procedures to mitigate privacy and security risks. Manage investigations, law enforcement and data subject rights requests that may arise from time to time. Instruct external law firms and external counsel as required. Conduct gap analysis between EU OU data privacy and data security laws and the GDPR, CCPA. LGPD, and other laws. Perform and or oversee initial and periodic information privacy risk assessment/analysis, mitigation and remediation. Functional Skills: High degree of independence, initiative and decisiveness but also desire to be challenged and think outside the box Outstanding legal and business judgment especially in ambiguous situations and ability to prioritize in fast-paced environment Strong analytic capabilities and written and oral communication skills. Attention to detail is a must. Experience advancing projects in a multi-stakeholder environment Experience using business judgment, being proactive, practical, concise and analytical in client counseling Excellent communication skills and an ability to communicate difficult legal concepts, anticipate potential objections, and persuade senior business leaders to adopt a different point of view Cybersecurity, Privacy and other investigation handling requires ability to communicate with judges, authorities, opposing counsel and outside counsel. Proven ability to work as part of diverse and multi-cultural teams of both legal and business colleagues Commercial-minded, solutions-oriented with a pragmatic and creative approach.
