Description
Position: Communication Specialist
Program: Communications
Location: Roscommon Office in Middletown
Salary: $22.00-24.00/hour
Schedule: Full time, 40 hours, 1st shift, Monday-Friday
Position Summary:
The Communications Specialist will serve as a resource to all departments within The Connection’s diverse programs and services to support the agency’s external and internal communications. The Communications Specialist will also assist with general and administrative tasks that support the overall functioning of the department. This position reports to the Senior Director of Communications and Business Strategy.
Requirements:
- Associates Degree
- 4 years related experience
- Valid Connecticut Driver’s License

- Supports external communications activities and strategies with the oversight of the Senior Director of Communications and Business Strategy.
- Creates and distributes content across social medial platforms.
- Creates email marketing campaigns and digital newsletters.
- Facilitates internal communication and collaboration across organizational departments.
- Supports agency publicity by drafting press releases, website content, and ensuring the organization’s online presence is accurate.
- Administrative support for communications budget management; maintaining and updating process documentation; marketing event coordination; data entry; and maintenance of communications and business development content.
- Support relationships with external vendors for marketing materials and video production.
- Maintains content files for Communications and Business Development functions.
- Maintains and updates process documentation.
- Assists with marketing event coordination.
- Provides general and administrative support for communications and business development functions as needed.
- Provides data entry as necessary.
- Establishes and maintains good working relationships throughout the organization and with outside supporters.
Orientation:
If selected for employment with The Connection, newly hired employees will be required to attend a two (2) day mandatory New Hire Orientation at our Roscommon office located in Middletown.
