Overview
The Senior Merchandise Planner position is responsible for managing sales forecasts for 1,000-2,000 SKUs to drive inventory from vendor to DCs and DCs to stores. This position collaborates closely with the Buying, Planning, Finance, Campaign, Online, Store and DC teams to ensure that inventory supports sales for all channels of business.

Responsibilities
- Forecasts product sales by SKU for all channels of business at the week level for 1,000-2,000 SKUs
- Reviews and updates the SKU forecast to drive purchase order engine
- Manages inventory end-to-end for all Distribution Centers and Stores
- Owns inventory from launch of an item to final markdown
- Responsible for approval of all purchase orders inbound to all DCs
- Integral part of the Merchandising Team (Buyer, Planner, Assistant Buyer, and Visual Merchandiser) accountable for Sales, Turn, and all aspects of inventory management
- Collaborates closely with Senior Director of Merchandise Planning and Inventory Management and the Finance team to provide inventory plans
- Balances inventory between multiple DCs to maximize sales
- Analyzes sales and merchandise reporting, draws conclusions and suggests courses of action
- Partners with vendors to ensure that inventory levels are optimized to achieve the company sales plan
- Partners with Campaign team to ensure that inventory for store presentation is available for in-store promotions
- Partners with buying team to develop sales and margin plan at department level
- Leverages planning and analytical expertise to maximize sales, inventory and gross margin
- Develops pre-season plans for marketing campaigns, seasonal assortments and new items
- Supports buying team with ad-hoc initial and reorder analysis
- Performs other requested tasks and duties

Qualifications
- College degree preferred
- 5-10 years of merchandise planning and allocation experience preferred
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills
- Strong computer skills: proficiency in Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Experience with database management system (Access) and data reporting systems (MicroStrategy) a plus
- Knowledge of automated retail replenishment systems in both Vendor-to-Distribution Center and Distribution Center-to-Store
- Knowledge of merchandise/SKU/sales trends relationships
- Experience managing others including career development, directing and evaluating work
- Based in Dallas/Ft. Worth area on a hybrid schedule
- Must be at least 18 years of age
