Salary : $25.00 - $40.00 per hourFull Job DescriptionCustom Millwork & Design Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced Millwork Construction Estimator to join our team.
As an Estimator, you will be responsible for analyzing construction plans and specifications, preparing competitive proposals, and securing contracts.
The ideal candidate will have experience with INNERGY Manufacturing Software and be detail-oriented with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
With extensive experience and state-of-the-art CNC machinery, CMD handles every aspect of the production process, from design to manufacturing, ensuring quality and precision at every step.
Located in Litchfield County, CMD's proximity to Boston and New York City has made it a go-to partner for some of the most demanding commercial projects in the country.
Specializing in custom wood molding, doors, cabinetry, and millwork, CMD offers tailored solutions for industries ranging from hospitality to office interiors, making them the clear choice for any commercial project.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to : -Prepare and submit accurate and competitive millwork estimates on time.
- Review and interpret architectural drawings and specifications, focusing on divisions 6 and 12 casework and millwork.-Communicate scope and pricing clearly to customers via proposals, calls, and emails.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and compile project summaries.-Update submitted proposals with scope changes, RFI's, and addendums.
- Collaborate with the Estimating Manager to review estimates and ensure accuracy.-Pursue and follow up on submitted bids to secure awarded contracts.
- Request and manage quotes from subcontractors and suppliers for buyout items.-Conduct scope reviews and contract negotiations with General Contractors (GC), both in person and over the phone.
- Manage all bidding documents and maintain organized records.-Negotiate final contracts with GCs, ensuring clear understanding of scope.
The ideal candidate should possess : -Experience with INNERGY Manufacturing Software is a plus.-Minimum of 2 years of construction estimating experience (millwork experience preferred but not required)-Strong self-motivation and ability to complete tasks efficiently.
- Knowledge of cabinetry sizing, dimensions, construction, and materials.-Proficient in email communication, both internally and externally.
- Ability to read, interpret, and understand architectural drawings.-Ability to clearly communicate project scope inclusions / exclusions and identify design errors.
- Capable of working in a fast-paced environment with multiple demands and interruptions.-Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines.-Familiar with architectural scope items such as trims, countertops, cabinetry, desks, and wall panels.
