Northern Analytical Services, LLC (NAS) is seeking a proactive and experienced Project Manager to lead our remediation projects. This role involves managing hazardous materials inspections, overseeing remediation projects, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Founded in 2003 by John Rehkopf, NAS has grown to serve the entire state of Michigan and surrounding areas with a commitment to excellence and professional integrity. Our team of accredited industrial hygienists delivers a comprehensive range of services, including hazardous building material inspections, indoor air quality testing, and more.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Hazardous Material Inspections: Conduct thorough building inspections to identify hazardous materials such as asbestos, lead paint, and PCBs.
- Project Design and Oversight: Design and oversee the execution of remediation projects, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Project Management: Manage multiple remediation projects, coordinating with other hygienists to ensure consistent and accurate work.
- Sample Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyze air quality samples, interpreting data to assess and mitigate risks.
- Quality Assurance: Perform visual inspections and clearance testing to ensure project adherence to safety standards.
- Technical Reporting: Compile detailed project data into technical reports for client and regulatory review.
- Team Leadership: Oversee all technicians, providing guidance and ensuring high standards of work.
- Project Coordination: Handle week-long projects, managing 3-4 projects per week and visiting sites to ensure quality and compliance.
- Preparation and Estimation: Stay ahead of new jobs by preparing and estimating project needs.
- Field Supervision: Monitor the removal of insulation and damaged materials. Supervise remediation teams in commercial settings, with an understanding of the demolition of insulation, drywall, flooring, and interior demos compromised by old lead and asbestos. Ability to suit up in Tyvek and walk sites when needed.
- Computer Skills: Utilize office software, including Word, and manage tasks on a laptop in the field.
- Site Inspections: Conduct thorough site walks, inspections, and detailed note-taking for observations.
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Experience: 3 years of experience in building inspections and remediation project design required.
- Project Management: Proven ability to manage and oversee multiple projects, ensuring quality and compliance.
- Analytical Skills: Skilled in collecting and analyzing environmental samples and data.
- Communication: Strong ability to review and compile technical reports and communicate findings effectively.
- Certifications: Must hold a Michigan Asbestos Building Inspector certification and NIOSH 582 or equivalent.
- Leadership: Demonstrated experience in leading project teams and managing other hygienists.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient with office software, including Word and Excel, and capable of using a laptop in the field.
- Detail-Oriented: Strong observation and note-taking skills.

- Because our projects are spread out over the entire state our team members can be as well. Typical travel is from your home to the job site and back on a daily/weekly basis. The majority of our sites are within 2 hours of the central Michigan area.
