Description
This person reports directly to the Director of Operations. The purchasing agent is responsible for procurement of products. Purchasing agent is responsible for making sure all daily purchasing reports are done in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Responsible for entering purchase orders, direct orders and transfers as necessary, ensuring appropriate stock replenishment for all branches.
Expedites and tracks special orders
Reviews acknowledgements for proper pricing and correct quantities
Assumes responsibility to maintain proper inventory levels for the company in all branches.
Investigates new products and recommends additions or deletions of products through product committee meetings.
Adjusts and solves problems with suppliers.
Negotiates lowest prices and best terms for the Company.
Works to maintain good working relationships with suppliers
Responsible for maintaining proper product costs in computer system.
Assists the counter and warehouse in answering questions regarding product use, availability and shipping and receiving questions.
Assists branch manager, outside sales and counter with quotes to customers when it is beyond their resources.
