PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Location: The Cottage
Position type: Full-time, exempt
Reports to: Executive Director
Direct reports: all Cottage center staff
DESCRIPTION:
Effectively manages the operations of the center, ensuring a superior quality of service is provided to residents.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Agency Management
- Oversees all day-to-day operations of the center
- Oversees the fiscal management of the program. This includes the development of an annual program budget, petty cash reconciliation, fulfillment of all payroll requirements, review and approval of any purchase orders and/or staff reimbursement requests, grant management, submission of monthly agency billing/reimbursement requests, and assistance with the annual financial audit, as needed.
- Maintains compliance with local, state, federal and all other regulations for licensure
- Responsible for scheduling facility safety inspections and building maintenance
- Resolves complaints and concerns
2. Staff Management
- Recruits, interviews, and makes recommendations for vacant positions
- Supervises all staff employed with the center
- Conducts performance evaluations for all center staff on a 90-day and annual basis
- Conducts a monthly staff meeting
- Provides center-based or external training opportunities to meet annual staff requirements
- Available on an “on call” basis for staff support at all times
- In the absence of any staff member, the Director is responsible for finding a replacement or covering the shift to ensure appropriate center coverage
- Handles disciplinary actions involving employees
3. Resident Services
- Monitors all resident services to ensure all needs are being addressed
- Monitors the accuracy of information entered into the designated database program related to client information, case management and activities
- Interacts with residents regularly
4. Community Outreach
- Establishes and maintains appropriate partnerships with other agencies in our services area and nearby communities
- Coordinates agency participation in community fairs and presentations for civic, church, local businesses and other groups
- Coordinates program fundraisers and fosters sponsorship relationships
- Provides educational opportunities and training to the community
5. Administrative
- Wears professional attire per the Employee Handbook guidelines
- Knows and follows all Cottage policies and procedures
6. Works assigned schedule to include on-call responsibilities and rotation during nights, weekends and holidays
7. Complies with safety rules and performs duties in a safe manner
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 21 years of age to oversee the center (administrator license requirement)
- Must possess a master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field with 2 years of paid experience in a social services/human services field, 1 of which has been in an administrative or supervisory capacity
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Strong management and supervision skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of individuals
