POSITION DESCRIPTION

Title: Project Manager

Schedule: Monday – Friday 8am to 5pm

Location: Longview

Classification: Full-Time

Opening Date: April 5, 2022

Salary Range: $32.00 to $36.00 per hour

Closing Date: April 19, 2022


Position Summary: We are looking for a dedicated, experienced, and efficient Project Manager to work collaboratively without team on specific short and long-term projects. In this role, you will oversee tasks delegated to you by the Public Works Director (Senior Project Manager), coordinate with all necessary vendors and service providers, and ensure that the project is moving forward on time and on budget. You will need to be highly organized, adaptable, and able to prioritize tasks while working independently. The ability to motivate others and keep them on task in a positive encouraging manner is also a must-have skill in this position. Candidate must have an eye for detail and a go-getter.personality, ready to help synchronize all the project elements and make them operate successfully.

An outstanding Project Manager should be able to maintain oversight of all project activities, identify any issues, and ensure these are resolved by communicating with stakeholders regarding project needs and goals. Monitoring project progress, following up with stakeholders_ on the completion or delay of project phases, scheduling meetings, and maintaining project documents and reports. Contributing to the planning and development of projects.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities include the following, and other related duties as assigned.


  • Assign duties to staff to implement project goals, as needed.
  • Oversee variable aspects of projects and provide direct assistance to ensure timely project execution.
  • Overview project goals and ensure project goals are achievable.
  • Liaise with project lead and other project managers to maintain project schedule and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the whole project team, contributing to the entire project lifecycle.
  • Organize and monitor schedules and see that deadlines are met.
  • Coordinate efforts within the team and with outside consultants efficiently.
  • Report updates verbally and in written form to management.
  • Monitor budget and help ensure resources are used efficiently.
  • Help discern requirements and assign tasks to team members.
  • Complete any necessary administrative tasks, such as research and email.
  • Demonstrate commitment to clients' ne ds and confidentiality continuously.
  • Assist with procuring materials and other items necessary for completing project goals.
  • Review project implementation and gather data on project execution.
  • Be a voice in the strategic planning phase of upcoming projects.
  • Assist the Public Works Director in the execution of the management plan for assigned projects. .
  • Coordinate and manage a project from inception to completion.
  • Review project designs and contributes ideas for cutting costs.
  • Carry out daily operational tasks in an effective and timely manner.
  • Facilitate communications between office and field staff
  • Track and directly report project status updates to Public Works Director.
  • Help problem-solve issues and suggest ways to improve the project.
  • Organize, file, and maintain all current project documents.
  • Enter information into and manage the digital project databases.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with necessary specifications.
  • Help create, manage, and maintain the project budget.
  • Schedule and confirm deliveries to field staff
  • Consult with and gather information from technicians, engineers, contractors, etc.
  • Maintain positive vendor and client relationships.
  • Completing any tasks assigned by the Project Manager in an efficient and timely manner.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Industry-specific certificates and licenses may be necessary or preferred, depending on industry.
  • 5 years of proven and successful experience in the hiring industry.
  • 5 years of estimating experience preferred.
  • Experience with negotiating contracts and change orders preferred.
  • Verifiable leadership experience and capabilities, with past successful project execution.
  • Ability and desire to work collaborative to ensure successful project execution.
  • Working knowledge of necessary industry-related tools.
  • Excellent (Expert) computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proven ability to generate and deliver reports that provide useful insight into project details.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with a passion for ensuring projects proceed efficiently.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Keen attention to detail and an aptitude for problem-solving.
  • Able to proactively address potential issues.
  • Significant hands-on experience with industry-specific software.

Education:

A Bachelor's or master's degree in a field related to the hiring industry and or 10 plus years of experience as a Project Manager will be considered in lieu of education.


Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has supervisory responsibilities.


Requirements: Must submit to and pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
