Reporting to the Head of Client Engagement, you will be working within the Client Engagement team to take responsibility for specific aspects of our current client accounts, delivering excellent client engagement across a range of projects and activities.  

You will be allocated a portfolio of client accounts which you will lead on.  These will include primarily clients from the Life Sciences sector, including global pharmaceutical accounts and an existing new client in the pharmacy sector.  The main service offering will be for our Ashfield Event Experiences business, focused on healthcare meetings and events.  These can range from internal standalone meetings e.g. NSMs through to product launch brand activations as well as more traditional HCP attended congress programs.  Therefore a background in pharma and meetings and events is essential.  And any creative/ experiential agency experience would be an added advantage.

Your Responsibilities:

Your day-to-day responsibilities can be grouped into 3 broad areas:

Leadership

  • Be an ambassador for the agency, our philosophy of Creating moments that inspire lasting change and Client Engagement excellence.
  • Provide proactive, discipline-agnostic and solutions-oriented account leadership for our clients; continually seek out and suggesting ways of improving client engagement across the account and wider agency.
  • Being a trusted business partners to our clients, supported with a thorough understanding of their business, the category and the broader market.
  • You will be responsible for the development of an account plan supported by a growth plan, helping the agency make the most of the client opportunity.  This includes early identification of possible issues or weaknesses that need to be addressed as well as opportunities that could be converted with the right agency support and conversations.  As part of this you will take the lead on preparation and hosting of Client Boards for your accounts, ensuring these sessions are used to have the right discussions to deliver growth on account.
  • You will play a leading role in managing your account’s financial forecast and overall financial health.  This includes ensuring that there is an accurate and up to date view of the financial opportunities on your accounts, as well as having a good grasp on margin, pitch costs and team utilization.  You will be supported by the Commercial Finance and the procurement team with this objective.
  • As a team our core responsibility to is to drive agency growth for our accounts.  As the senior members of the Client Engagement Team, the CEDs have a critical role to play in this area.  This includes understanding the client’s business and their priorities. Having a proactive approach towards a growth plan goes beyond just listening out for opportunities with existing clients and projects but needs to include a specific plan to open up new conversations with new clients that align with the TCEG capabilities.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the full range of Ashfield Event Experiences and TCEG services.
  • Set the agency team up for success on your account.  This includes ensuring key people are well versed on relevant aspects of the account, the client’s business, the individuals we work with, category and competitor environment etc.  It’s our responsibility to ensure that the teams working on our accounts know the relevant information.  This doesn’t mean it’s our role to tell them all of this, just to ensure that it is happening, and the right information is being conveyed.
  • Ensure that the client briefs are being interrogated, interpreted, to get to the bottom of what the client is really aiming to achieve, and helping to make sense of this for the agency team.
  • Act as a support to the teams on specialist and integrated delivery teams (from exhibitions, event, video, digital, learning and communications planning and writing) ensuring we are delivering on the client brief and acting as a point of escalation as and when required
  • Manage and mentor junior team members as appropriate

Relationship

  • Become a trusted business partner to your clients. Ensure the account has a contact strategy for your key clients, allowing each client to feel looked after and supported.
  • Acquire and build a thorough understanding of the client’s objectives and work collaboratively with internal departments to deliver against these objectives.
  • As part of the growth plan look to proactively open up and nurture good client relationships with new client’s contacts
  • Look to develop strong, collaborative relationships with the broader team across TCEG, helping to create an environment for them to ‘create Moments that inspire lasting change’.

Accountability

  • Develop a strategic understanding of client’s needs at an organizational and individual level, ensuring the agency’s response is tailored to recognize and deliver against these.
  • Help create a culture around your accounts that drives the successful delivery of projects, in accordance with client MSA and SLAs and industry compliance guidelines (where appropriate)
  • Work with the operations team and heads of departments to appropriately resource projects
  • Be accountable and responsible for the commercial value of your account.
  • Be responsible for delivery of specific account income targets and maximize TCEG income opportunities whilst providing best value for the client
