Host Job Description:
Our restaurant is looking for a host/hostess with remarkable and engaging people skills.
The right person for this job should be able to multitask between incoming guests and phone calls. Our restaurant prides itself in providing excellent service, which is why we are looking for a host who will treat our guests with attentiveness, patience, and a positive attitude.
All our hosts are also responsible for handling cash and credit card transactions for To-Go orders. To help our restaurant provide a pleasurable dining experience, a great host should be able to ensure that our guests are fully satisfied by being friendly, courteous, accommodating, and reliable. A suitable candidate for the job should also be a problem-solver and a team player.
Full Responsibilities of a Host:
- Greeting, seating, and escorting guests
- Coordinating with wait staff about incoming reservations and available seating
- Performing opening and closing duties
- Overall knowledge our reservation operating system, 'Resy'
- Answering phones
- Responding to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner
- Providing menu recommendations and additional information
- Checking in guests and verifying or creating new memberships at the door
- Taking To-Go orders
- Communicating To-Go order details to the kitchen staff
- Assist in cleaning and resetting the appearance of tables for the next round of guests
- Maintaining a clean reception area
- Giving all guests a warm farewell
- Providing exceptional customer service
Host Job Requirements:
- Must showcase teamwork and communication skills.
- Must be able to handle money transactions responsibly.
- Must be able to multitask and act quickly.
- Must be hospitable and give excellent customer service
- Prior restaurant experience is preferred but not required
