We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Buyer to join our procurement team at our manufacturing facility. The Junior Buyer will support purchasing activities, ensure timely delivery of materials, and maintain strong relationships with suppliers. This role is essential in maintaining production flow and meeting the operational needs of the facility. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in supply chain management and procurement, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Purchasing & Procurement: Assist in sourcing and purchasing raw materials, parts, and components for production. Collaborate with suppliers to obtain quotes, negotiate pricing, and ensure cost-effective procurement.
- Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers, evaluate supplier performance, and assist in identifying new potential vendors.
- Order Tracking: Monitor purchase orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery. Track shipments and coordinate with the receiving department to ensure accurate inventory levels.
- Inventory Management: Work with the inventory control team to maintain optimal stock levels and avoid production delays. Review stock levels, and initiate purchase orders to replenish materials as needed.
- Cost Control: Assist in reviewing budgets and cost estimates to ensure that purchases are made within budget constraints. Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate purchasing records, including purchase orders, supplier contracts, and delivery schedules. Generate reports to track purchasing activity, vendor performance, and cost trends.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the production, engineering, and quality control teams to ensure that materials meet required specifications and production deadlines.
- Problem Solving: Address issues related to delivery delays, supply shortages, or quality discrepancies by communicating with suppliers and internal departments to find timely resolutions.
- Compliance: Ensure that all purchases comply with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.
- 1-2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or a related role within a manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.
Skills:
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems is a plus.
Preferred:
- Previous experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or purchasing.
