The Dawes Arboretum is currently recruiting an IT Manager to join our Administration department. Reporting to our Director, Human Resources, the IT Manager is responsible for managing all The Arboretum s technical and telecommunications systems and serving as a liaison to outside IT contractors and suppliers.

The annual compensation for this position is $70,000.00

Some of the specific responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
- Manage all areas of information technology, computer systems and telecommunications.
- Manage relationships and serve as a point of contact for software, hardware, network and IT service vendors.
- Evaluate, monitor and recommend new hardware, software and systems.
- Manage technology upgrades, considering factors such as initial investment, refresh cycles, five-year total cost of ownership (TCO) and return on investment (ROI) analysis.
- Conduct regular system and process audits.
- Develop, implement and maintain IT policies and procedures; regularly update to stay current with industry trends.
- Safeguard assets, information security, data, ERP system, network access and backup systems.
- Develop and document an IT Disaster Recovery (DR) Plan and contribute to the Business Continuity Plan needed.
- Provide technical leadership across teams and support the new staff onboarding process.
- Associate degree in Computer Science or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five (5) years of experience working in an IT position; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Experience with the administration and troubleshooting of operating systems, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Exchange and complex TCP/IP networks.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure, balance competing priorities, and consistently meet deadlines.
- Proven record of continuing education and demonstrated understanding of current IT industry trends.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with staff, members, volunteers, visitors, groups, the public, and/or boards of trustees.
- Innovative self-starter and problem solver with a propensity towards action.
- Willingness and ability to serve in an on-call capacity for unexpected work emergencies.
