QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s Degree in psychology, education, speech language pathology, occupational therapy, social work, counseling, or in a field closely related to the intended use of the assessment and formal training in the ethical administration, scoring, and interpretation of clinical assessments. All duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with Federal, State and Local laws.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Certification by or full active membership in a professional organization (such as ASHA, AOTA, AERA, ACA, AMA, CEC, AEA, AAA, EAA, NAEYC, NBCC, CVRP) that requires training and experience in the relevant area of assessment. Formal supervised mental health, speech/language, occupational therapy, social work, counseling, and/or educational training specific to assessing children, or in infant/child development, and formal training in the ethical administration, scoring and interpretation of clinical assessments.
· A member of the Evaluation (ETR) team and Individual Education Plan Team.
· Performs comprehensive evaluations or screenings for diagnostic, prescriptive, or placement purposes; interprets evaluations to parents, staff or other appropriate parties.
· Makes recommendations for program placement, objectives and intervention strategies. Provides on‑going consultation as needed.
· Applies knowledge from the professional literature whenever possible.
· Assists in the collection of program evaluation data in accordance with department or agency direction.
· Provides in-services and other consultation to staff of Logan County and other County Boards of DD, ODODD, providers and other Logan County Community Agencies as needed.
· Maintains all required statistics and records.
· Coordinates evaluations of students for special education, including scheduling with parents and therapists.
· Help with open house and enrollment of new students (especially those that qualify for special education services.)
· Collaborate with Early Intervention staff, assist with the transition from EI to preschool, and attend TPC meetings as a district representative.
· Assist with student transition to Kindergarten or placement with other preschools.
· Attend trainings on evaluations, writing ETRs/IEPs and then provide In-Service training to staff on these skills.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:_ For purposes of 42 USC 12101 and OAC 4112‑5‑08:_
1. Prepares, maintains and coordinates records, reports, assessments, and evaluations.
2. Assists, consults with, and trains staff, families and others.
3. Measures, assesses, and interprets results of skills, abilities and disabilities.
4. Attends and participates in conferences, meetings, workshops, and seminars.
5. Communicates with parents, families, and staff.
8. Interprets and complies with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and professional ethical standards.
9. Lifts, carries and moves enrollees as needed.
10.Shall comply with Safety Rules established for the purpose of fulfilling compliance with Ohio Employment Risk Reduction Standards, Rules, or Orders, through the utilization of protective equipment and decontamination techniques.
