Our flagship transitional work program-- Ready, Willing & Able-- integrates paid work, occupational training, and holistic supportive services to facilitate an individual’s return to mainstream society.

The Doe Fund has an annual operating budget of $65 million and a full-time staff of 400 .


We are currently seeking a Part-Time Residence Manager to work closely with the Clinical team for The Doe Fund's newest permanent supportive housing program for homeless men and women living with HIV/AIDS. This position will be under the direct supervision of the Program Director. The program is designed to provide long-term residential care and twenty-four-hour support services in a community environment that maximizes residents' independence while ensuring their physical and emotional security and well-being. This is a twenty-eight-unit residence with residents referred by the New York City HIV/AIDS Services Administration (HASA). 

 

The shift we are looking to cover is Tuesday- Thursday 5 pm-1 am. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Function as a liaison between the residents and the staff  
  • Collaborate with the security staff during his/her tour of duty to ensure the safety and well-being of the residents 
  • Perform hourly patrols through the facility 
  • Manage any challenging situations and/or crises that may occur at the facility 
  • Responsible for handling any incidents that may occur at the facility and completing an Incident Report Form, as needed 
  • Communicate noteworthy events to the Program Director and the Clinical team as well as document them in the appropriate logbook 
  • Attend all mandatory staff meetings     
  • Ensure all aspects of the Fire Alarm System (FAS) are working properly and are up to code with FDNY  
  • Visually inspect and document all components of the FAS 
  • Conduct and document quarterly fire drills 
  • Other duties as assigned   

 

The Ideal Candidate:

  • You have a High School diploma or GED 
  • You have at least two years of experience working in social service, residential setting  
  • You have a working knowledge of HIV/AIDS, substance abuse, mental illness, and homelessness  
  • You have the ability to work independently  
  • You possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills  
  • You possess excellent oral and written communication skills  
  • You possess computer skills – internet and Microsoft Office 
  • Fire Safety certification (F-02 or F-80)
