The Door is an unparalleled model for youth development, offering a comprehensive range of integrated services within two sites for up to 11,000 New York City youth each year. Our mission is to empower young adults to reach their full potential by providing comprehensive youth development services in a diverse and caring environment. At The Door, youth can access health care and education, mental health counseling and crisis assistance, legal assistance, college preparation services, career development, housing supports, arts, sports and recreational activities, and nutritious meals – all for free and under one roof. By providing participants with our suite of integrated services, we seek to provide any motivated young person with the tools, resources, and opportunities needed to successfully transition to adulthood.
In partnership with and co-located at The Door, Broome Street Academy is a unique charter high school that prepares New York City’s most vulnerable youth for a successful future through rigorous academics paired with supports of The Door.
Working in a shared-service environment, the Managing Director of Data and Evaluation will provide data leadership and services for The Door and Broome Street Academy, two independent nonprofits that share administrative functions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead an organizational culture shift towards one which fully embraces data and evaluation as a method for learning, reporting, and continuous improvement
- Work with program managers to strengthen practices and systems for program and contract compliance (fidelity to best practices or evidence-based practices; compliance with legal or funding /contract expectations; compliance with regulations for third-party insurance reimbursement and Medicaid compliance), instituting and overseeing correction plans if needed
- Engage and manage consultants, as necessary, to develop and implement new evaluation systems
- Supervise teams responsible for overseeing program evaluation, data & analytics, business operations, and system administration
- Support the development of agency-wide metrics and methods to collect and analyze program data to evaluate program performance and quality, within programs and across programs where possible
- Build capacity for, implement, and manage internal systems for conducting ongoing outcomes measurement and assessment
- Seek and develop ways to engage residents and program participants in ongoing program evaluation and design
- Oversee the use of evaluation as a tool in accomplishing program/project objectives and ensure that data is being collected accurately, analyzed appropriately, and adapted as needed
- In collaboration with senior directors, develop and implement comprehensive and ongoing quality assurance training programs deliver training programs
- Lead discussions with senior management to reflect on evaluation results, coach, and support managers to lead similar discussions with their teams, and lead discussions with interdepartmental and interdisciplinary teams
- Disseminate and translate research findings to a variety of constituencies. Manage all administrative aspects of research and evaluation, including budget, data collection logistics and other related duties
- Ensure procedural documentation is detailed and current, including quality assurance process information
- Prepare quality assurance materials, reports, manuals, articles, correspondence, and make presentations concerning professional education to various audiences
- Serve as a member of The Door’s senior management team and participate fully as a leader in the organizations, and oversee other administrative functions as assigned by the CCOO
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Public Administration, Social Work, Public Health, or related field required
- Minimum of 5 years Salesforce Administration, preferably in a non-profit environment
- Salesforce certified professional preferred
- Advanced SQL administration skills preferred
- Demonstrated ability to design and write technical end-user documentation
- Ability to work with and manipulate large data sets
- Project management experience preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong background in Microsoft SQL query writing, reporting, and data analysis preferred
- Attention to detail and adherence to department policies and procedures
- Ability to interface and work well with all levels of staff while maintaining confidentiality
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Knowledge of Apex, Lightning, and Visualforce preferred
Work Schedule: Full time, Monday - Friday, 35 hours a week
