About You and This Role :
Dow has an exciting position as an Administrative Specialist in the Catalyst Process group within Process & Catalysis R&D in PSP&H R&D, located in Freeport, Texas.
In this role you will provide administrative support and administer general office activities. You must have the ability to initiate, organize, prioritize, and complete work with minimal supervision.
You must demonstrate advanced communication skills for interaction with people at all levels within the organization and external Dow partners.
A successful candidate must be dedicated to high quality performance, demonstrate strong collaboration and a team-first mindset, be flexible and adaptable to change, work with short deadlines or over long timelines as needed, and appropriately and ethically handle highly confidential information.
Responsibilities :
- Preparing and approving monthly expense reports (Concur),
- Maintaining physical and electronic files, records, and calendars.
- Managing group purchasing through timely input of SAP and purchase orders requisitions, service entry sheets, good receipts, and invoices for payments to be posted in.
- Creating SAP / MSMS Requisitions for all lab services, equipment, chemicals, and supplies.
- Receiving customers and visitors, preparing travel schedules, arranging calls, scheduling meetings, and organizing team business and recognition events
- Serving as team Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Office Equipment & Tools, including Copy Centers, Workstations, Peripherals, Projectors, IP Phones, VPN, etc.
- Coordinating activities with a team of administrative specialists, providing assistance to peers on a as needed basis, and acting as back up during peer’s absence.
- Supporting the interview, hiring, onboarding, and offboarding process for group personnel.
- Assist in the execution of Capital and Expense Projects in the Plastics and Hydrocarbon R&D Organization.
Required Qualifications :
- A minimum of High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
- A minimum of three years of relevant experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft application expertise, to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required.
- A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship / support is available for this position, including for any type of U.
S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Associate of Applied Science degree is preferred.
- Proficiency with SAP purchase requisition entry or equivalent software is preferred.
- Prefer prior Fileshare management experience.
- Demonstrates basic knowledge and application of Dow or equivalent software IT tools is preferred.
- An equivalent of five years of administrative experience is preferred.
Additional Note : This position is located in the Herbert H Dow Building. 9 / 80 work schedule is available.
