About you and this role As the Improvement Manager, you lead the prioritization and implementation of all plant improvement opportunities and required implementation resources for High Pressure Polyethylene technology. You will partner with the Plant and Operations leaders to solicit and collect ideas, describe opportunities, and implement projects. You meet global business goals through optimization of the process technology, implementation of improvement projects and implementation of Most Effective Technology (MET). This role requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and basic knowledge of related job disciplines. Responsibilities Serve in a business leadership role leading the development and completion of technology plans supporting global business and functional strategy by application of the continuous improvement work process. Lead the continuous improvement work process to develop and implement Plant Specific Technology Plans in alignment with the Global Technology Plan including data collection, gap analysis, idea generation, prioritization, improvement project implementation, and review of results. Coordinate and leverage globally, the resources required for implementation of the Technology plans. Monitor and measure implementation of the technology plans. Provide input for improvement of work practices and priorities using plant and improvement project data. Interface with the business and participating in business plan technology development. Work with the technology center to set priorities for MET definition needs. Provide coaching and direction on goals and plans for Improvement Engineers. Ensure validation of project performance objectives after implementation Problem solving g/troubleshooting ability. Have an in-depth understanding of technology and work practices. Serve as a change agent for driving technology. Provide support to plant operations. Qualifications A minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering or a science related discipline OR relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 ranking OR Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class ranking. Chemical Engineering degree preferred. At least 4 years engineering, manufacturing or related experience required. Must possess a TWIC card or be eligible to obtain a TWIC card. A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
