Experience with news deadlines and an understanding of journalistic ethics are important. Demonstration of strong problem-solving skills is also a requirement.
Accountabilities
In the role you would be expected to:
Ensure the quality, company style and accuracy of our report
- Be an advocate for integrated storytelling by blending the strengths of text, photography, video, illustration and information graphics
- Spearhead of our print production and facilitate planning for special sections and issues
- Help shape and package content to meet the needs of our readers
- Work with team to streamline production processes
- Encourage output of a high level of uncompromising journalism
- Design and packaging skills are a plus
To succeed in the role you must have:
- Flexibility to adapt to the evolving needs of the team
- A strong command of InDesign and WordPress. Illustrator and Excel skills are a plus
- A minimum of five years experience at a major media outlet and a strong record of working on deadline
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail while working with journalists, many of whom are also on tight deadlines
- An ability to contribute original ideas and be an early adopter as products advance
- Ability to quickly switch among various task

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Strong understanding of publishing processes
- Significant copy editing and line editing experience
- Mac or PC literate
