The Director of Dining Services is responsible for the overall food service function. He/she plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates, and supervises activities of the department to provide food services for residents/patients, employees, and visitors. This individual also provides technical guidance and administrative direction to the Food and Nutrition Services personnel.
Position Highlights
- Operates department within budget by utilizing purchasing programs, food specifications and ordering system to order food and supplies.
- Performs quality improvement functions including audits, interviews, and rounds with residents/patients, department personnel and co-workers. Identifies opportunities for improved customer service, food production and dining program enhancements.
- Assures menus, recipes and menu systems are followed to prepare meals, snacks, and nourishments in accordance to prescribed resident/patient diets and that meals and snacks are served timely.
- Plans and oversees the execution of special events, celebrations, marketing events and other food related nursing center functions to meet resident/patient, nursing center and employee requests.
- Interviews and hires personnel within the department budget and orients, trains, and develops personnel to maintain a high level of performance.
- High school education or equivalent required.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the spoken English language to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our patients and visitors to respond to their medical and physical needs.
Compensation: $17.00 - $20.00 / hour
