Registered Nurse (Day/Evening)

This is a Full Time, 0.8 FTE, Day/Evening Shift Position

Position Summary:

Provides holistic and compassionate nursing care as part of an interdisciplinary team to clients in a residential, higher level of care (HLOC) setting with a focus on treating clients with eating disorders.

Responsibilities:

• Provides client care through assessment, monitoring, and intervention to address health concerns appropriately
• Responsible with medication management including education, assessing adherence, administration in the residential setting, and monitoring for side effects in collaboration with provider
• Assists and support medical and psychiatric providers with medical care coordination
• Provides medical care coordination between patient, provider, staff, family and outside care agencies as needed
• Serves as a staff resource for client medical needs and information and attends treatment meetings as applicable
• Adheres to policies and procedures as defined by the various programs including maintaining client confidentiality and client rights
• Recognizes and appropriately responds to medical and psychiatric to emergencies
• Responsible for accurate and timely documentation in the client medical record
• Ability to take initiative, utilize critical thinking skills, and resource to work autonomously
• Partners with team effectively to maximize performance through use of communication skills, knowledge of team dynamics, and adaptation to change to ensure high quality of care

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited course of study in nursing required
• Licensed as an RN in the state of MN
• Must have valid driver’s license and be authorized to drive
• Current Basic Life Support certification required (American Heart Association) within 30 days from date of hire
• Experience or strong desire to work in a mental health setting
• Qualified in Minnesota as a Mental Health Practitioner preferred
