Description
The Eye Care Group is seeking well rounded Ophthalmic Assistants who work on the clinic floor to support the Doctors and fellow staff members and managers. Ophthalmic Technician's primary goal is to support their team, the doctors and provide excellence in patient care. Our Technicians are responsible for supporting the overall mission, vision, values, and mantra of The Eye Care Group. Please submit a resume and cover letter for review! - Knowledgeable in ophthalmic assisting procedures and able to answer questions and address concerns in a professional and friendly manner.
- Performs all duties of an Ophthalmic Technician as directed by a physician or Leadership including but not limited to checking visions, intraocular pressures, finding patient’s glasses prescriptions, assisting with clinic procedures, etc.
- Takes all medical history from patients
- Assists in training and guidance of new technicians, is always teaching and welcoming.
- Preform various diagnostic tests
- Has excellent attendance understanding for patient care and team support.
- Contributes to the agenda for team meetings, as well as participation in presentation as needed.
- Punctuality - Adherence to scheduled times of arrival and departure from work.
- Monitors their own productivity and responsibilities on the clinical floor. Updates methods as needed to maintain efficiency and quality service to patients from the Clinical staff.
- Maintains positive attitude consisting of cooperation, self-motivation, courtesy, and professionalism.
- Complies with all practice procedures and protocols. Complies with all state and federal regulations. Understands and accepts responsibility to report potential or suspected errors to direct manager or HR.
- Assists Ophthalmologists during exams and minor procedures.
- Familiarity with healthcare terminology and electronic medical recordkeeping.

Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
Preferred 2 years of related experience
Good Computer skills, able to navigate between screens: able to accurately enter data, familiarity with electronic medical records; experience with NexGen or Nextech a plus
Medical Terminology preferred
Traveling to/from Orange/Branford on occasion to Waterbury/Southbury (when/if needed)
COVID Vax required
Work 5 days a week, 37.5 hours a week
