What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ophthalmic Assistant position at The Eye Clinic, Inc?
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
performing /obtaining the following:
- chief complaint, history of present illness
- visual acuity
- neutralization of glasses prescription
- manifest refraction
- assessment of pupils, confrontation fields, and anterior chamber depth
- scribing
- A-scans, visual field, fundus photography, OCT, topography, and pachymetry testing, applanation and tonopen tonometry
- assisting in minor in office surgeries, sterilization of surgical instruments
- accurate documentation of medical information
- educate patients on proper eye care and contact lens use
Requirements:
- Knowledge of ophthalmic procedures and equipment
- Understanding of ocular anatomy, physiology, and common eye conditions
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, doctors, and other staff members
- Exceptional patient advocacy
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with electronic health record systems
- Previous experience working in an ophthalmology practice

Pay: $33,280.00 - $42,000.00 per year
