Responsibilities:
- Perform preliminary tests on patients, such as visual acuity, color vision, and depth perception tests.
- Prepare patients for the optometrist by taking medical history and documenting any relevant information.
- Assist with contact lens fittings and teach patients how to properly insert, remove, and care for their lenses.
- Conduct diagnostic tests, such as tonometry and retinal imaging.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for each patient.
- Handle front desk duties, including scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and checking patients in and out.
- Utilize electronic medical record systems to input patient information and update records.
- Process medical billing and insurance claims accurately and efficiently.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients by addressing their inquiries and concerns.
- Assist with retail sales of eyewear and contact lenses, including recommending products based on patients' needs.

Experience:
- Previous experience as an optometric technician or in a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical coding and billing procedures is a plus.
- Familiarity with retail sales and basic retail math is beneficial.
- Experience working with pediatric patients is desirable.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 17 – 30 per week
