ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive and nurturing care to children ages 6 weeks to 6 years, meeting their physical, emotional, and developmental needs.
- Create a stimulating and age-appropriate learning environment through play, exploration, and sensory experiences.
- Establish trusting and supportive relationships with infants and their families, maintaining open and ongoing communication.
- Follow daily routines and schedules to ensure consistency and predictability for children.
- Implement developmentally appropriate activities and curriculum to promote cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
- Collaborate with team members and participate in professional development opportunities.
Essential Job Functions
- Promotes a unified, collaborative atmosphere in all communications and actions.
- Provides quality childhood education for clients of Easterseals Lonestar in whatever capacity is required in accordance with skills and training.
- Maintains awareness of trends and best practices in the field of child Development.
Required Education and Job Experience
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; CDA (Child Development Associate) or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting preferred.
- Knowledge of early childhood development and age-appropriate practices.
- Effective communication and people skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers.
- Patient, compassionate, and a genuine love for working with children.
- Must successfully complete CPR/ First Aid training requirements and obtain certification.
- Must possess a current valid Texas driver’s license, proof of insurance, and have a driving record that meets the standards of the agency.
