SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the creation, implementation and continuous monitoring of the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit Differentiated Civil Case Management Program, and the supervision of related court staff. The Program Coordinator works under primary direction of the Court Operations Manager of the Civil Division and secondary direction of the Director of Case Management. This position will work with administrative judges and others to help implement the Circuit’s case management program; ensuring compliance with Florida Supreme Court and local requirements; prepare and execute policies and procedures; and conduct civil case management as directed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • The Program Coordinator will work with Civil Administrative Judges on the development, implementation and continuous review of local Administrative Orders related to the Differentiated Civil Case Management Plan.

  • Implementation and coordination procedures for a timely and effective disposition of the civil cases for the circuit.

  • Review processes and modify if warranted.

  • Review case load reports to ensure that case management orders are entered into new and pending cases and ensure that all cases have been designated as either expedited, general, streamlined or complex.

  • Run reports for non-compliance of the parties and oversee setting case management hearings with either the Circuit, County or Senior Judges.

  • Supervise staff, monitor staff performance and track work of staff as required to ensure efficiency and timeliness of completion.

  • Provide direction and training for staff including on the use of crystal reports function, and the court’s judicial viewer, “JVS”.

  • Review case data and reports for case integrity and accuracy; identify discrepancies and report to clerk.

  • Review pending case data for cases in need of judicial intervention and prepare orders and notices for judicial signature.

  • Monitor case load reports for compliance with service of process time standards as well as compliance with general time standards.

  • Oversee the issuance of orders pertaining to the lack of service of process.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, criminology, social work, law or a closely related social science field. Four years of related experience and two years of supervisory experience.

Additional relevant experience may substitute for college education on a year-for-year basis.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of Florida Court System, specifically, Civil Division.

  • Knowledge of Florida Civil Rules of Court.

  • Knowledge of Court Performance Standards, Civil Case Management, specifically Differentiated Case Management.

  • Knowledge of Florida Supreme Court directives found in Administrative Order(s), memorandums and training.

  • Skilled at leading others, even those staff not directly supervised.

  • Skilled in identifying and implementing best practices.

  • Ability to plan and execute complex projects with many competing demands.

  • Knowledge of interviewing and selection techniques, following EEOC, State and Local Policies and Procedures.

  • Working knowledge and understanding of specialized vocabulary used in judicial proceedings; detailed oriented; excellent communication skills; accurate use of the English language, grammar, punctuation and spelling.
