Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Chimney Sweep to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, cleaning, and maintaining chimneys and flues in residential and commercial properties. As a Chimney Sweep, you will ensure that all chimneys are safe, functional, and free from any potential hazards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting chimney inspections to identify blockages, creosote buildup, and other hazards.
- Cleaning and maintaining chimneys and flues using specialized tools and equipment.
- Removing debris, soot, and creosote from chimneys to prevent fires and ensure proper ventilation.
- Providing maintenance and repair services for chimneys, including installing liners and fixing cracks.
- Advising clients on proper chimney usage and maintenance to prevent future hazards.
- Keeping accurate records of services performed and maintaining a clean work area.
Requirements:
- Proven work experience as a Chimney Sweep or a related field.
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to chimney sweeping.
- Familiarity with tools and equipment used for chimney cleaning and maintenance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good physical condition and ability to work at heights.
- Excellent communication skills and customer service skills.
Pay: The pay is base commission coming out to 65-120k/year.
Education and Certification:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position. Certification from a professional chimney sweep association is preferred but not required.
Working Conditions:
The job requires working outdoors and at heights, as well as exposure to soot, debris, and other hazards. The work schedule may vary depending on the season and workload.
