The Fire Station (TFS) operates as a series of Marijuana Facilities within the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. TFS holds valid state and municipal operating licenses and strives to exceed compliance standards at the highest level. Beginning in 2019 with less than ten employees, our business is now growing rapidly and welcomes new employees who are interested in a career in the cannabis industry. As a Marijuana Retail Facility, our operations involve welcoming customers 21 years of age into our facility to view and purchase high quality marijuana products. A team of employees all work together to provide customers with top notch customer service and cannabis knowledge to aid them in their cannabis experience. 

Job Title: Central Packaging & Distribution Manager

Job Description 

Roles 

The Packaging and Distribution Manager will provide leadership and work flow expertise to optimize existing packaging procedures to drive value and build a competitive advantage as related to packaging and distribution. This position will manage processing, packaging, supply oversight, inventory control, quality control and sales logistics. This position will collaborate extensively with all general & inventory store managers and with all functions within the supply chain to ensure timely completion of assigned packaging projects within the specified time, cost, and quality parameters set by company and industry standards. The manager will utilize best practices to assure that product and package integrity is maintained throughout our distribution environment. They will ensure that deadlines and deliverables are consistently met and proactively communicate as changes arise. The manager will hold the highest level of compliance with the CRA.

Responsibilities 

  • Managing performance of employees
  • Provide leadership and guidance on packaging 
  • COGs packaging analysis
  • Inventory Management
  • Product intakes and outtake and processing into databases
  • Comply with and implement the organization's policies, procedures and applicable federal/state laws and regulations
  • Facilitates weekly inventory audits
  • Strategically manage warehouse in compliance with company's policies and vision
  • Maintain computer-controlled inventory (METRC)
  • Lead and coordinate associates performing activities including unloading and stocking of inbound shipments, order selection and shipping of outbound orders, cycle counting, and packaging
  • Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures
  • Adhere to all warehousing, handling, and shipping legislation requirements
  • Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene, and security
  • Manage stock control and reconcile with data storage system (METRC)
  • Plan workdays, assign tasks appropriately and appraise results.
  • Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided.
  • Promote and drive safety daily in the workplace, crafting a safe work environment for associates.
  • Drive high levels of inventory integrity within the building.
  • Maintain security of warehouse and safety of all associates and equipment, reporting any accidents and conveying any issues to management and CRA.
  • Continued improvement of warehouse efficiencies.

  • Strong supervisory skills with ability to build team engagement and commitment, follow through on development actions to optimize individual potential and empower and motivate others
  • Results driven, with a strong emphasis on data to qualify approaches and outcomes
  • Ability to deal with complexity, shifting priorities, flexibility, and ambiguity

Education & Experience 

  • Must have adequate cannabis product knowledge
  • Must have at least 3 year of experience with POS systems
  • Must have at least 3 year of retail experience 
  • High school education required, higher education preferred
  • Preferred bachelor degree in business, supply chain management, logistics, or similar field. 

Work Environment 

  • State & Municipal Law - TFS operates in full compliance with all rules and regulations enforced by the State of Michigan’s Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) and Marihuana Regulatory Agency (MRA). Further, TFS operates in full compliance with the rules and regulations of each municipality they are located within. To operate in compliance with such rules and regulations, employees are required to follow all policies created and enforced by and within TFS facilities.
  • Prolonged periods standing at a sales counter and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds at a time

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age 
  • Must have NO felony convictions
  • Satisfactory Background Check
  • Valid form of identification 

Work Schedule

Typically 9 am - 5 pm, some weekends and holidays.

Salary/Wage & Benefits

Compensation based on education and experience.

TFS offers enrollment into Health, Dental and Vision insurance packages through TFS, provided by Blue Cross Blue Shield. Employees are eligible if they are full time employees who have been employed for 90 days or more. Other benefits are offered to both PT and FT employees.
