TITLE: Warehouse Associate - Part-Time
CLASSIFICATION: Part-Time/Non-Exempt
SUPERVISOR: Director of Operations
Position Summary:
The Warehouse Associate is responsible for safe and efficient daily warehouse operations. This position is responsible for a variety of manual tasks associated with acquisition, storage, and distribution of food and other donated products including pulling orders, loading and unloading deliveries, operating warehouse equipment, and general maintenance and cleanup.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
PULL TEAM:
- Pull orders with assigned teammates using the warehouse picklist and the FIFO method
- Report all discrepancies to Inventory Manager
- Assist drivers by loading outbound trucks
- Work with accuracy and efficiency in accordance with the Quality Accountability Plan
BAY TEAM:
- Load outbound agency vehicles, ensuring acceptable condition and accurate product count
- Assist agency in pulling/weighing extra items
- Prepare agency paperwork and deliver to warehouse office staff in a timely manner
- Maintain superior customer service with agency representatives
- Work with accuracy and efficiency in accordance with the Quality Accountability Plan
RECEIVING TEAM:
- Unload incoming trucks
- Accurately count product on receiving sheet
- Review bill of lading and provide pallet count to the warehouse office
An associate will be assigned to one of these teams as a primary duty but will be crossed trained and able to assume any of these roles at least 20% of the time.
GENERAL WAREHOUSE DUTIES:
- Work with other staff in maintaining safe and sanitary warehouse conditions
- Assist with food bank volunteers as directed
- Cross-train in all applicable operations of the warehouse
- Treat agency representatives with respect and courtesy
- Make pickups and deliveries in a timely manner as assigned
- Operate warehouse equipment and vehicles safely and efficiently
- Practice safe food handling techniques according to AIB standards
- Cross-train in all other warehouse duties, assuming those responsibilities when directed by management
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Good math and counting skills
- Good verbal skills and reading/writing literacy
- The ability to work in a team environment
- Be cooperative and respectful to peers and leaders
- Ability to take initiative and share duties to accomplish warehouse tasks
- Basic awareness of safety standards
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely, including forklifts
- Ability to lift 50 pounds repetitively
- Ability stand/walk all-day
- Maintain a clean and neat appearance
- Possess sufficient flexibility for bending and lifting
- Experience and ability to work with diverse populations
