JOB TITLE: Dishwasher Non-exempt
REPORTS TO: Executive Chef SALARY RANGE: $17.00 per hour
SUPERVISES: None
JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a motivated, dependable, energetic Dishwasher who enjoys working as part of a team to join our kitchen staff at Kids Kitchen. The Dishwasher is primarily responsible for assisting with food preparation and maintaining a sanitary environment for food and storage as well as providing clean service ware and utensils for the entire operation. Organizational and interpersonal communication skills are a must.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
At all times maintain clean and professional appearance with proper kitchen attire
- Maintain the dish room. Dishes cannot be cleaned properly in a dirty area
- Ensure all counter space is properly cleaned after each use
- Change and maintain cleansing solutions at all stations
- Take out trash and recycling
- Keep walk-in and storage room clean and visibly assessable (all similar items stored together)
- Promptly clean up all returning off-site pans so they are ready for the next meal service.
- Inform Executive Chef when supplies are running low: gloves, trash bags, soaps, sanitizers etc.
- Put dishes away promptly and in correct location. This keeps the kitchen clean and maintains order in the kitchen.
- Preparation of Food
- Cut food according to its intended use
- Following proper CACFP and CYFD guidelines while preparing food
- Following food safety guidelines in all food preparation and clean up
- Help maintain the cleanliness of all food storage containers (hot boxes, hot bags coolers)
- Get food packed and properly assigned for pick up by drivers
- Ensuring carts for School are correct for each number in class
- Inform Chef when product is running low
- Properly store and label unused food. Label must include correct date
Requirements and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
- Ability to set up and operate dish washing equipment
- Working knowledge of sanitation procedures
- Availability for early morning shifts is required
- Effective communication skills
- Adept at performing tasks well in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to pass a CYFD background check

- Clean Driving Record – New Mexico Driver’s License
- NM Food Handlers Permit and Serv Safe Certification required
- Negative COVID Test and Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination
Physical Environment
- Primary work is in a kitchen environment
- Employee can be exposed to extreme hot or cold temperatures
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- The employee must be able to load and unload items into and out of truck
- The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts
