Job Description

Responsible for minor and major repairs of all buildings and equipment as well as daily maintenance including electrical, painting, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry.

The maintenance technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the sites business goals and objectives.

  • Support the Crowne Plaza hallmark and service standards.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day skilled maintenance tasks including; electrical, painting, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry mechanics, and troubleshooting equipment repair.
  • Perform daily inspection of equipment.
  • Refurbishes furniture and fixtures within guest rooms such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows and counters.
  • Responds in a courteous manner to all guest questions, requests and complaints.
  • Performs preventative maintenance procedures on building mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Provide emergency / unscheduled repairs of equipment during operation and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of equipment during machine service.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnostic skills, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
  • Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required.
  • All other duties as required.

Education & Experience

  • High School or equivalent preferred
  • 5-8 years of related experience preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of plumbing, electric, and / or HVAC
  • One to two years of vocational / technical training or an Associate's degree preferred.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.

The noise in the work environment can be loud.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.

The employee must frequently lift and / or move items over 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

This is a full-time non-exempt position with expectation to work necessary business hours to ensure business needs are met during the operation of the Maintenance Department.
