7 Passenger Limo & Sedan Driver (Class E License Required)

The Gatesworth is a luxury independent senior living community. Our drivers hold one of the most important jobs at the Gatesworth. They are the key provider of transportation services to our residents. If you are motivated to perform your job well and have a desire to ensure the safety of our residents, as well as maintain an innate sense of professionalism, warmth, decorum and “class” -- all characteristics that define The Gatesworth’s service, we'd love to meet you! Our drivers don’t just “drive a limo,” they provide meaningful, safe, and reliable transportation to our residents.

The essential duties and responsibilities described below are representative, but no necessarily all-inclusive, of the position:

1. The Driver is to expedite transportation for our residents promptly, as scheduled. The Driver is to handle residents courteously. The Driver is to ensure traveling safely to destination, observing speed limits, practicing caution, wearing safety belts and using direct routes. The Driver is required to graciously decline any tips offered by passengers or to turn them into the Resident Services Director.

2. The Driver is to assist residents with parcels, packages, etc., from vehicle to Door Attendant's station. Driver assists the Door Attendant, Concierge or Receptionist when not driving. Driver should initiate assisting these persons, informing them that they are available.

3. The Driver maintains vehicles: keeping them fueled, and in clean, serviceable condition. Driver will inform supervisor if the vehicle needs to be washed Mon-Fri. If the mini-van, limo or sedans need a wash on the weekend, they may be taken to a car wash by the driver.

4. The Driver maintains the log book of mileage and resident's destinations. Driver completes ALL appropriate forms for different vehicles.

5. When serving as a Door Attendant or Concierge, Driver will perform these duties as described in the Door Attendant or Concierge Job Descriptions.

6. Lunch and break times need to be coordinated with the Lead Concierge.

7. No drinking, smoking, personal phone calls or chewing gum while working. Breaks are taken in designated areas.

8. On evenings when entertainment is scheduled in the Living Room, the driver helps as needed to return extra chairs and restore the Living Room furniture/lamps.

9. The Driver must strive to develop and maintain positive relationships with all passengers, making their transportation services a pleasant and comfortable experience.

10. The driver must always wear his seat belt and ensure his passengers are also belted.

11. Driver must use a blue tooth earpiece while using their limo phone to communicate with the receptionist.

12. The driver works in a cooperative and team-oriented manner with the receptionists, regarding vehicle bookings, etc. Driver maintains positive communications with all receptionists via vehicle phone.

13. Responsible for obtaining and maintaining current Taxicab Commission License.

14. Perform other duties as required or assigned.

15. Must be able to create and maintain a safe work environment.

16. Adhere to all policies and procedures outlined in the Gatesworth Employee Handbook, Resident Services Departmental Manual and Driver Manual.

Job Qualifications:

Energetic, friendly, caring individual dedicated to serving the Gatesworth residents in a polite, effective manner. Must have a valid driver’s license for at minimum 2 years and willingness to obtain a “Class E” driver’s license.

Strong commitments to company goals and objectives and to maintaining excellent company reputation and quality customer service.

Must be able to effectively communicate with residents, visitors, co-workers, etc.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experienced Driver with Clean Driving Record

Education:

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to read and write.

Experience:

Prefer six months experience in hotel or multiple residence facility

Reasoning Skills:

Ability to understand and follow directions.

Oral/Written Communication Skills:

Ability to read, write, and speak English. Ability to interact pleasantly and effectively with staff, residents and families, and possess clear verbal and written communication skills.

Physical:

Able to lift 40 lbs. and push or pull 250 lbs. while loading wheelchair bound passengers into the VAN.
