Floor Manager Job Description
As a floor supervisor, your primary responsibility is to be the driving force in providing a seamless and exceptional guest experience. The floor supervisor adds a level of accountability in the restaurant and acts as a coordinator of details needed for a smooth meal service. This is accomplished through training, supervision and guidance. When the Restaurant Manager or Manager Assistant is not available, it is the responsibility of the floor supervisor to resolve customer issues. Additionally, floor supervisors should always help other servers with questions and provide assistance as needed. If a guest has an issue with the food or service, the floor supervisor may take over and try to correct the situation, while also properly documenting errors to reduce reoccurring operational service issues. In addition to supervision, a floor supervisor should be willing to jump into any role in the dining room, as needed, to keep service flowing and to set an excellent example of being a team player for other staff members to follow.
