ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:
1.) Supports and promotes the nursing department functions on the unit by following established policies and procedures.
2.) May be responsible for managing, directing and supervising all personnel and all nursing operations of the nursing unit during the assigned shift.
3.) Assigns duties and responsibilities to unit staff members in a manner that facilities optimum delivery of care to residents.
4.) Is knowledgeable and responds to nursing and building emergencies according to established policy and procedure.
5.) May serve as Assigned Supervisor for various nursing department personnel. As such, conducts employee performance reviews, disciplinary conferences, and exit interviews in a timely manner.
6.) If serving as Assigned Supervisor, will be responsible for performance, retention and development of all assigned employees. Seeks direction from Personnel Manager and Director of Nursing regarding personnel matters. Takes appropriate action in accordance with personnel policies and procedures.
7.) FOR HERITAGE VILLAGE ONLY: May participate in provision of emergency needs of Upper Campus residents.
SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS:
1.) Licensed currently as a Licensed Practical Nurse in New York State in good standing. Maintenance of licensure requirements required.
2.) Long term care experience preferred.
3.) Must be able to meet health assessment requirements, including required testing and health documentation.
4.) Ability to lift over 60 pounds at various times as necessary. Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop, squat, twist, and engage in repetitive motion for extended periods of time.
5.) Computer application skills required.
6.) An effective ability to read, write, and speak the English language is required.
7.) Ability to interact appropriately and professionally with staff, residents, vendors, volunteers and the public in person, and via the telephone.
8.) Ability to meet deadlines and handle stressful situations.
Salary : $23 - $28
