What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Teacher Assistant position at The Global Child?
The Global Child, LLC is seeking an Assistant Preschool Teacher candidate to support our Preschool program in our Ledyard, Ct center. The candidate would work full-time in the preschool classroom on a daily basis. The ideal candidate should have an understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices, be nurturing, reliable, flexible, and enjoy spending time with children.
General Responsibility:
- Assist in the implementation of the curriculum for children in a center-based setting.
Specific Responsibilities (Be knowledgeable about):
- Developmentally appropriate practices and the CT Early Learning and Development Standards.
- Planning according to the individual needs of each child.
- Developmental assessments and conducting observations of children daily.
- Encouraging family engagement in the program.
- Maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
Qualifications:
- Degree Required: ECE or equivalent.
- Experience is a must.
Special Qualifications:
- Applicants must be skilled in building positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Experience working with young children or in a licensed childcare center is a must.
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
