Our company is headquartered in San Diego, CA and has been named “Best Places to Work” by the San Diego Business Journal since 2015.Job Description: Goal Solutions is seeking a Corporate Counsel to be based in our Sioux Falls, South Dakota office. The Corporate Counsel will advise the Company and its operating subsidiaries on legal and compliance matters relating to the Company’s core businesses of asset management, structured finance, loan servicing, and debt collection. The ideal candidate should possess 2-5 years of relevant in-house or law firm experience, strong legal research and writing skills, and a proactive approach to legal and compliance problem-solving.Responsibilities:- Monitor, analyze, and advise the Company on legislative and regulatory developments that impact its operations.
- Advise Company regarding state licensing matters and regulatory exams.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements and contracts.
- Provide proactive legal guidance to ensure the Company's compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Advise stakeholders during intercompany meetings on various business objectives.
- Review advertising and marketing materials to ensure that they comply with legal requirements.
- Assist with the oversight and management of the Company's litigation, collaborate with external counsel, monitor and evaluate case progress, and provide regular status updates to executives.
- Conduct legal research and writing projects relating to compliance, operations, human resources, and finance matters.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education & Other Minimum Requirements:- Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school and active license to practice law.
- Two (2) to five (5) years of experience practicing law in-house or at a law firm.
- Strong working knowledge of consumer financial protection laws including, but not limited to, GLBA, ECOA, EFTA, FDCPA, FCRA, SCRA, TCPA, TILA, UDAAP, and all implementing regulations.
- Proficiency in drafting and negotiating contracts and agreements.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to form strong, collaborative working relationships with others.
- Ability to articulate complex legal concepts in a simplified way for other stakeholders.
- Strong writing, presentation, and oral communication skills.
- Self-motivated and strong work ethic with impeccable organization skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and to deliver timely results in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to anticipate relevant legal issues and risks.
- Must be a team-oriented person who partners well with other attorneys, compliance and business professionals.
